Pre-authorisation clocks under Dubai's 2025 claims directive
The new directive puts timers on both providers and payers — here's how the windows work.

Dubai's 2025 Health Insurance Claims Management directive introduces defined timeframes around pre-authorisation. Providers are expected to submit authorisation requests promptly after a physician's order, and insurers and TPAs must respond within set windows that vary by urgency and setting.
Reported windows include faster turnarounds for elective outpatient requests, longer ones for elective inpatient, and immediate handling for emergencies. The practical effect is that authorisation is now a timed, auditable step rather than an open-ended back-and-forth.
Missing an authorisation reference is one of the most common, and most avoidable, denial causes. Capturing it on the claim and carrying it through resubmission — as the Claims Resubmission Workspace does — keeps these cases from bouncing.
