Denial-rate benchmarks for UAE providers

Where clinics and hospitals typically land on first-pass denials — and what a well-run RCM function targets.

1 min read

Published benchmarks put baseline denial rates in Dubai around 8–15% for smaller clinics and 4–8% for hospitals with dedicated coding teams. A well-run RCM function typically drives first-pass denials below 5%.

The gap between those numbers is recoverable revenue. Most of it concentrates in a handful of causes — eligibility and coverage, missing prior authorisation, coding and bundling edits, missing observations, and timely-filing limits.

Measuring denial concentration by payer, service, clinician and diagnosis is the first step; routing each denial family to the right fix and the right person is the second. DataHub's dashboards and resubmission workspace are built around both.
